In the context of Tamilnadu state, the Central Government has released the list of three categories (Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes).
If you also belong to the Scheduled Tribes or Scheduled Castes or Other Backward Classes community in the state of Tamilnadu, then to avail the benefits of reservation in central government jobs, educational institutions, promotions, educational scholarships and seats or posts in elected bodies, you will have to mention your category. In India, opportunities for upliftment of individuals from socially and educationally disadvantaged groups are provided by providing reservation in government jobs, educational institutions, promotions, educational scholarships and seats or posts in elected bodies.
